At the start of this month, Haverhill GP introduced its new online booking system in order to increase its efficiency and to try and reduce the number of patients failing to show.

The number of missed appointments was as high as 350 in a single month, and its main cause was the 4 month waiting list. With the power of online booking, this advanced booking waiting list was instantly reduced to just 5 working days! New appointments are also released each day, and are bookable online.

The surgery has around 17,800 patients, who are treated by the equivalent of seven full-time GPs. This is around 2,500 patients for each doctor. Although the booking system has already improved things at the GP, unfortunately it can't help towards the shortage of doctors and GPs in the area!
